A huge thank you to a group of alumni who attended a work session organized by Ross Williamson (’74) to get the house in shape after the usual Senior Week disruptions and giving the members a big head start on getting the house ready for fall rush! The following is Ross’s trip report:
We went up prior to this July’s Clarkson Reunion with hopes of finishing some projects, continuing done others and possibly starting some new ones. Unfortunately, as has been the case for the last few years, the house was in a bit of a mess due to senior week celebrations. With the help of Sue Wajda and Sue Rice, AGO Potsdam alums and Crow supporters, we were able to bring the house almost back to good shape before alumni showed up for the weekend.
Then Jack Foster, Ed Dacey (AXP 75) and their wives came to the house and we all continued the cleanup to get the house first floor looking good.
Then Bill Calder and Bryan Skokan got to the house to help with some work projects. We organized the pantry, mounted fire extinguishers and towel racks, replaced some remaining 2nd floor ceiling lights and some broken light switches. We picked up doors for the pantry and basement which we hope to install during SUNY Potsdam’s reunion on July 12th. We mowed a portion of the lawn perimeter to delineate the property lines for the lawn service company.
We’ve replaced a couch in the tv room with two lightly used recliners and will be replacing some of the worn out living room furniture with similar slightly used couches and recliners. We look forward to working with the brothers for a long weekend work session just before classes in the fall and a weekend in September to do some more painting projects in the stairwells and done sheetrock repairs to get the house looking good for the fall rush.
